You wanna hear some serious racism?
July 29th, 2007Proponents of illegal immigration just love to accuse people who differentiate legal immigration and illegal immigration of racism. I’ve always wanted a country with equal opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender, favorite football team, or whatever. And that’s how most Americans feel.
The thing about legal immigrants is they go through the paperwork. They study American civics. They pay taxes. They follow American laws. They take more pride in being Amerians than even American-born Americans. I like legal immigrants. I think they contribute greatly to America.
Now, if you want to call people like me racist, what do you have to say about this shit?
For the record, La Raza means “The Race.” Could you imagine a white supremist group being called “The Race?” Everyone would hate them as much as we hate the KKK. Yet, nobody bats an eye when there’s a Chicano group called La Raza. Double standard? Hell yes.
“California is going to be a Hispanic state, and everyone who doesn’t like it should leave.”
-Mario Obledo, the co-founder of MALDEF
“The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”
-Miguel Perez, Cal State Northridge’s chapter of MEChA
“We have an aging white America…They are dying…They are shitting in their pants with fear! I love it!”, “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.”
-Jose Angel Gutierrez, founder of La Raza Unida political party
“For La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada.”
-MEChA saying. This means “for the race everything, for those outside the race, nothing. Are you outside the race? If so, should you give everything you own to these ass clowns?
I always wanted to see a united America. These mother fuckers want to divide it. Yes, it is their Right to Free Speech, but it’s also your Right to the Truth of where they’re coming from.
Thanks to my friend Neal for the quotes.
We have a lot of that kind of conflict here with the french feeling slighted yet taking control of everything socially and politically and blaming everyone but themselves because they’re not being taken seriously but how can you figuratively whack the man in the face with a sign while screaming peace and equality? Then you have the high and mighty whites pretending to equalize the Natives while tearing down their homes and taking their babies still but using poor living conditions as an excuse and knowing full well that they gave the native poison water and dirty fields. Where does it end? My friend TWysted said it best and please pardon my language here - his direct quote:
“To stop this race bullshit we gotta fuck until we’re all one colour but then all thats left to kill each other for is religion and money so yeah, we’re screwed however you look at it.”
So yeah brother - I hear ya. Loud and clear. I see your tuppence and raise ya five.
~xo
Jean - Your friend Twysted is brilliant!
I just have one thing to say, Soy un pinche Gabacho loco…(I’m just a crazy fucking white guy)
Great post Zombie…You coulda done it without my quotes…you’re that good….
Neal - I think folks need to know where these loonies are coming from, so it’s best to simply quote them. We want a United States, they want a divided nation.
i completely agree with your comments on legal immigrants. i have watched more than a couple different legal immigrant families jump thru all the necessary hoops and have uncle sam continue to make things as difficult as possible and it pisses me off that amnesty to illegals is discussed so casually.
and those quotes are just astonishing in the level of hatred.
I’ve had it with this fascistic Aztlan b.s. “We want to be productive, law-abiding citizens of your country…and if you don’t like that, we’ll smear you all as racists and crush you.”
No WAY is opposition to illegal immigration inherently racist, no matter how many white supremacist creeps support it. I’d be equally upset if huge numbers of Canadians were wandering into the U.S. without going through the proper legal channels.
I dont mind the legal immigrants as much as it is the illegal immigrants trying to take our work and such away from those people here that need work and then cant find it because there is no work to be done because some illegal SOB has taken the job and then when some one sees they arent legal then when its time to rehire some one they are leary of doing so. It just doesnt make sense to me really but oh well it sucks and that is how it is going. Maybe I am going down the wrong path here but this is how I feel. You want to be an American fine get the papers and become one but if you cant come over legally and get all documented stay in your own country. I dont mind having mexicans, french, asian people next door to me. That is fine. Just get them where they are legal citizens and then learn our language and then its ok. I know quite a few people here that dont speak our language and it sucks. Our neighbors on the one side of us act like they dont know what we are saying. They are nice but I just wonder how legal they are even if they just bought the house before we did. They moved in about a week before we did. Yikes huh??? They are nice but come on its hard to speak with them when you dont know there native tongue and they dont know ours. Sorry I have said all this before but you are right.
Lime - Yeah, that’s yet another thing that I can’t stand about Bush. And he says it’s not amnesty.
SME - It is fascistic. That word is used correctly there.
Tweety - Well said. The sad thing is corporations like hiring them because they don’t have to pay them benefits nor worry about annoying little things like worker safety laws. If I were running the show, I’d go heavily after the corporations who hire them.
My great-great grandparents endured a LOT of prejudice when they arrived here. They worked hard, and studied for their citizenship test in the little bit of spare time they had.
Their children learned English in school and on the streets, then patiently taught their parents the language of their CHOSEN country.
My ancestors were extremely proud of their citizenship papers and the freedoms they represented!
Now, these Chicano “ass clowns” make a mockery of everything our LEGAL IMMIGRANT ancestors worked so hard for! That pisses me off!!
I’m not for illegal immigrants..but they really need to lower the price..
Its a couple o’ thou to become a citizen
who has that kind of money?
I love mexicans ..love them ..
they are the best people in the world.
but some do have an agenda to take back california ( it was originally part of mexico)
And thats wrong..they need to take back mexico from the crappy crooked politicians that are corrupting the whole country.
I was married to a cuban, and i have his spanish last name ..
I’m keeping it too..
it might come in handy one day..
What Jean and Tshsmom said. My (and yours, and probably most peoples’) ancestors went through the same deal. It’s impossible to placate everyone in this area–that’s why politicians aren’t moving on it.
An ex blogger pal of mine, Adriane, had this slogan FIFO (fit in or fuck off). Think it’ll catch on?
Thanks Zombie on this subject I could go on forever esp here in GB WI. There is so much of it that its not funny and then its hard to do a damned thing about it. I think that is partly why we decided to homeschool finally. There were more spanish speaking kids in Kora’s school than english speaking kids.
I’m a liberal Democrat and I can’t believe the Republicans want to give amnesty to the Illegal immigrants, as it seems to go against everything they stand for. Yes, it’s hard to get into this country legally, but I think it’s even harder to move to other countries.
I had never seen those quotes before and they are appalling. I’m absolutely stunned.
To grant automatic citizenship is crazy - to say nothing of completely unfair to people who came here legally.
LMAO, Bridg! FIFO is my new slogan!

Kathleen, the Republicans need a steady supply of cheap labor for their big-business cohorts. I don’t know who they think will buy their products when we all lose our jobs to cheap, illegal labor and outsourcing!
My politics run both slightly left and right of center depending on the issues but I’ve about had it with those wanting unrestricted open borders. Both left and right pundits like to say that illegals take jobs Americans will not do and while there might be some substance to some of the dirtier and dangerous jobs in my area I’m seeing more and more obviously Mexicans taking construction and technical jobs that were once good paying jobs that in no way can be classified with the “dirty low paying jobs we won’t do.” Like everyone else here I have no issue with legal immigrants but illegals depress wages making it harder for those born in this country to keep up.
kathleen and tshsmom, please don’t lump ALL republicans into one mushy group, saying we want amnesty. i abhor the idea. i live in OC and i see that i am now the minority.
mecha wants to eventually conquer so cal, and i see it slowly happening. it’s creepy. i’ve lived here all my life and the demographics have changed dramatically.
McKay - you nailed it. The Amnesty bullshit is not supported by many that I know to be Republican. Across the board, if put to a popular vote, this would die, Die, DIE.
As for anti American racism, as you reference in your post, Zombie, I am totally with you. You can see it if you watch Mind of Mencia. Americans are rolling in their seats as Mencia rags on Americans, and at one point, walks up to a white man in his audience and gives him the double bird. Ha ha ha ha ha. Whew. What a holler. I would have broken his finger on the spot. Why? Because if the roles were reversed, I would have been skinned alive for deigning to talk down to a minority. We are conditioned to take this shit because we are American and enjoying the fruits of our labor. I’m sick of being forced to bow down, by my own fucking people.
Sorry, I meant the Republicans holding office (and their rich cohorts in big business) and trying to continue to hold office by showing they love Mexicans (or whatever it is they’re trying to do).
I actually do love Mexicans and Mexico, but I think there are laws in place for a reason.
Tshsmom - Yes, and they’re not willing to become true Americans, which really pisses me off. They ought to deport these morons.
Cynnie - Mexico itself is gorgeous. I’ve been all over Mexico except down the Baja coast, which is one thing I need to do. But I think you hit the nail on the head when you said they need to take it back from those scumbag politicians. If it weren’t for the corruption, Mexico wouldn’t have so many problems. They definitely have the natural resources and the brains to be a 1st World nation.
Bridget - FIFO. I love it!
Tweety - It just makes no sense why anyone in this country won’t learn English. I’ll have to do a post on that alone one of these days.
Kathleen - Yes, it’s a slap in the face to my mother and all the other people who went through all the loops and hurdles to come here legally. Republicans like them because they keep labor costs down. You don’t have to follow labor laws, don’t have to give them benefits, etc. Today’s Republicans are greedy bastards and probably make yesteryear’s Republicans roll in their graves.
Tshsmom - I’ll have to do another post on outsourcing. Did it on the old blog, but not on this one.
Beach - Like everyone else here I have no issue with legal immigrants but illegals depress wages making it harder for those born in this country to keep up.
Working and middle class folks need to realize this - illegals bring wages down.
McKay - What’s really bad about the OC now is that school quality has dropped dramatically (or so I hear). Illegals don’t take school seriously, and are always getting in gangs. Not good for the kids who actually want to learn something.
Scott - That alone would make a great post. Sometimes I’m thankful I don’t have white skin, and feel bad for those who do.
Kathleen - You are right on about Republicans in office. Everyday Republicans are against it, and the ones in power are for it, because they’re the ones who are ungodly rich and only care about their own money and not Americans.
People who have met immigrants who have gone through the process of becoming legal can appreciate citizenship. They have studied and worked and deserve citizenship perhaps more than those of us born to it. Love your blog and love your thoughts!
Granny - Thanks! My mother was one of those people. Quiz her on American civics, and she beats 99% of native born Americans. She also got a Masters degree and never misses a vote. She takes pride in being an American.
I pretty much agree with everyone here. I think anyone here illegally should have the chance to apply for actual citizenship, but I don’t agree with automatic amnesty.
I hear a lot about illegals taking jobs where there are so few, and for the most part I agree. However, I think the punishments for that should rest on the employers. You can’t blame someone for trying to feed their family and escape poverty. Any one of us would do whatever_it_took to ensure our families had enough to eat and a safe, clean place to live - anyone who says they wouldn’t is probably lying.
The problem with holding employers accountable is that then they would pass on the increased costs to consumers. I have no problem with that - but I wonder what someone living paycheck to paycheck who survives only on cheap goods produced by companies paying workers well below minimum wage.
I’m certainly not saying I agree with companies that do that - I don’t. It’s a violation of human rights to not pay people adequately for their work and ensure safe working conditions. If companies and the free market had their way, they’d keep things the way they are - make stuff as cheaply as possible to increase profit. Those days will be gone - I’m personally all for it, but be careful, all you ‘government hands off the free market’ conservatives, what you wish for. Because this would entail MORE government “interference” to ensure that all workers were legal, paid a living wage, and had access to proper conditions and benefits.
Unbievelable!! Asshats I say…and yes free speech for them if they are LEGAL here! My great-grandparents came to the US for prosperity. They contributed to their communities, had children, but eventually went back to Hungary.
Both my father’s parents were born in the US but returned to Hungary when they were small babies/children. Raised in Hungary but told the ideals of the American birth.
When my grandmother returned to the US at the age of 18 (an American citizen) she worked hard at everything she did, including learning our language and living out her American dream. She is proud of her heritage but even more she is proud that she is American. This country allowed her and her children to have much more than she ever could have in Hungary. For that, my grandma thanks god every day!
Good reminder Zombie and no I don’t consider you or myself a racist!
I don’t know–do you really want to give Green Cards to more Yankees fans? Tough call….
You’ll be glad to know that among the “next generation” the melting pot is balanced nicely with cultural pride (including whites proud of being white). Nearly all my students in SoCal have a mix of friends and a mix of backgrounds.
Only one question: What the hell is a “true American”?
Laura - Ralph Nader said that if he were President, he’d punish the employers. I do think that’s the way to handle it. Not to go off on a tangent, but I think we need to trade more with Mexico and less with China to build a Middle Class in Mexico, thus giving them no reason to come here illegally.
We do need to start enforcing the laws that are in place, which we’re not doing. They’re there, they’re just not enforced.
I’m not a total free market conservative. I realize we need laws - labor, environmental, etc. so thus, I understand we’ll have to have more gov’t here if we don’t have the bodies to enforce the laws that are in place.
Jenbeauty - Yes! That’s the attitude I was referring to with legal immigrants. And I love that attitude too. That attitude makes America a better place.
Jessica - I see a true American as one who’s proud of their citizenship, rather it’s by birth or by following the necessary laws to become an American. And wearing the American badge as an honor - being proud of their country, and giving back, with attitudes like JFK when he said “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
Good answer.
