An open letter to the NAACP about Michael Vick

September 21st, 2007

I got this in an email from Neal, and couldn’t stop laughing. No, Neal didn’t write it either, but I’m giving him credit because he found it. As you may know, the NAACP tried to defend Michael Vick. I personally found his actions disgusting, and comparing that to deer hunting is absolutely absurd. We eat what we shoot, and use other parts of the deer for other things. I won’t go into details, but if you’re a hunter, you’ll know we try not to waste much.

Anyways, contains profanity. Here ’tis.

An Open Letter to the Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP

Dear Dr. R L White, Head of the Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP,

My name is Mike. I am 27, and I am neither a member of your organization nor a resident of Atlanta. Normally I wouldn’t bother you, but then I came across this article, and it compelled me to write.

Since I am white, I am going to tread carefully, so as not to offend your gentle sensibilities. But, Dr. White, you are a dumb fuck.

Speaking for white people everywhere, let me fill you in on something. This case was not a race issue. It was about killing dogs. And if there is one thing people don’t stand for, regardless of race, it’s killing dogs. You compared it to deer hunting. Again, Dr. White, you are a dumb fuck. When was the last time a deer greeted you at the door when you got home from work? Or curled up next to you and gently nuzzled in to take a nap? Dogs are pets, you moron. They aren’t meant to be killed for sport. The failure to make this distinction only makes you look stupider.

Sorry, I lost my temper there.

Here’s the thing, Dr. White. The reason people were outraged by this was because he killed dogs. If Ben Roethlisberger or Brett Favre had done it, the reaction would have been the same, I guarantee you. The difference is, had Ben Roethlisberger or Brett Favre done this, you wouldn’t see white supporters rallying behind them, proclaiming he was innocent in the face of mountains of damning evidence, supporting him regardless of the outcome. Let me let you in on a secret about white people; when one of our own makes us look bad, we condemn him and disown them. I suggest you adopt a similar policy. If your group’s mission is truly to advance “colored” people (your word, not mine) you’d disassociate from the idiots in your race. It can’t go wrong, trust me.

Anyway, Dr. White, I don’t want this to come off as racist, because it isn’t. Michael Vick is a despicable person who happens to be black. The sooner you realize that, the less of a dumb fuck you’ll look like.

Sincerely,

Mike

Oh boy. That was good. Some people. Are they shooting house animals for sport though?? Just wondering. As an animal lover I would hate to hear about some poor dog or cat being punished with guns and what not.

He was dog fighting, and when a dog wasn’t good enough, they bashed the dog against rocks until it was dead or drowned it. It had nothing to do with hunting. I’m not 100% sure, but I think it’s illegal in all 50 states.

That’s a good letter. Michael Vick is trash in any color. Was torturing dogs worth losing your millions, your fans, and your freedom?

Hunters also try their hardest to make a clean kill, so the animal doesn’t suffer. Vick and his cronies deliberately tortured those dogs!

    Tshsmom - Well said.

Skeletor - Well, he’ll learn that the hard way.

How absolutely horrible. Thanks for the letter, but if the guy can read I’ll be surprised.

That is terrible. I have heard of people fighting dogs but never heard of them killing them afterwards if they werent good enough.I have to say I hate people like that. I love animals even if I dont have any of my own as of now. I was brought up with animals. People in general are outright ????? Cant think of a good word to put there. Sorry. It just irks me to the core that they would torture an innocent animal just because it couldnt fight properly.

Tweety - Yeah, it’s sick. I love dogs, and what he was doing was sick. I too hate people like that. From witnesses, he enjoyed killing the ones who couldn’t fight properly or who weren’t good enough. He killed them in sick ways too, not just put them to sleep like a Vet does. I’m glad he’s going to jail.

Bridget - Well, he does have a college degree, so he better be able to read. But yes, he’s pretty stupid, not ignorant. Ignorant is when you just don’t know, stupid is when you should know better. Everyone is ignorant about something. This guy is just plain stupid.

On espn.com, I saw a kid with a sign that read: “Everyone makes mistakes.” This was in support of Michael Vick. I hate that phrase. His parents probably have a room temperature IQ teaching him stuff like that. Vick flipping off his home crowd was a mistake. Electrocuting and smashing dogs to death are crimes that he will pay for big time.

hahaha! I was not aware that there was an issue about a man killing dogs for sport, but the letter was funny and right on. In movies, I am always sadder for the dog than men being killed; I think it’s because it’s our responsibility to protect any creature less intelligent or able than us.

The issue this writer raises here, or rather the attitude is the same problem with all races in the world, there are bastards (not referring to the dog race) of all race and sex, some race condemn baddies, while other seem to want to protect their baddies and pass it on as oppression and discremenation, that’s just a shame that. I wish we’d all work together ridding ourselves of baddies and bullies regardless of race, religion and sex.

Skeletor - Everyone makes mistakes, that’s true. But there’s a big difference between running over your neighbor’s mailbox and killing. That kid’s parents are dumbasses. It’s too bad they already bred.

La Cremiere - I wish we’d all work together ridding ourselves of baddies and bullies regardless of race, religion and sex.

Me too. I hate bringing race up, but being a “minority,” I hate it when other “minorities” rally around criminals. Makes me look bad. I have no criminal record and I’m d*mn proud of it. I also can speak English correctly, finished college, and pay my taxes. Pisses me off when people rally around losers.

I’ve actually had discussions with some of my fellow liberals about this and one insisted that the powers that be were going after him because he was black and that it would have been different if he had been white. I totally don’t agree with that at all. The points made in the letter were excellent.

I’m afraid someone is going to take away my Liberal card because I’m also siding with GM on the UAW strike. Oy vey!

Kathleen - Yeah, black or white, killing dogs like that is sick. it’s so much different than killing for food. Supposedly, he enjoyed bashing the dogs against the rocks, electrocuting them, and drowning them. That’s sick. It had nothing to do with skin color.

I’ll have to look up the GM vs UAW strike. I don’t know enough to take sides.
