Are the Democrats really this stupid?

August 10th, 2008

I picked up the Sunday paper today and found the new Democratic platform, and all l can say is - “are the Democrats really this stupid?”

You can’t be in a better situation.  You have this election handed to you on a silver platter.  The economy is in shambles.  You have a President in there now who’s the worst President since Jimmy Carter (yes, Carter was worse for those with bad memories).

Instead, the Democrats are too stupid to focus on real issues and are doing about the worst things you can possibly do.

Right on top of the platform - immigration reform, and more gun control.  We do NOT need immigration reform.  We need to enforce the laws on the book and send illegals back to where they came from.  Illegals are a drain on the economy, undercut the working class, fill up our jails, and their kids bring down our test scores, join gangs, and get pregnant.

We don’t need amnesty.  If you want this nation to be a 3rd World country, vote Democrat.

The 2nd thing is more gun control.  WTF?! That’s the last thing we should be focusing on right now.  So that means for me, once again opening up the financial war chest and sending max contributions to people running for Congress and the Senate who believe in this thing called the Constitution.  You can’t trust the Democrats to do that, because they’d rather play politics.

I take back the 10 points I said.  If Obama even wins, he’ll be a lame duck President by the 2nd half of his first term.

Now, if the Democrats had any brains, they would have nominated Jim Webb from Virginia, who turned down a VP offer from Obama recently.  Webb should be running this country.

Here’s what Obama should be doing:

1) Drop the amnesty crap.  Realize that American citizens and LEGAL immigrants come first.

2) Focus on the economy.  Actually, this should be #1 but I said that because it’s at the top of the Democratic platform.  We need to get rid of the tax breaks for outsourcing and slow down globalization.  Globalization is great for the Upper Class, but is quickly destroying the Middle Class in this country.

3) Drop any mention of gun control.  Webb has it right.  But of course, Webb’s a tough guy.  Obama’s got a glass jaw and thinks it’s the government’s job to do EVERYTHING, because people can’t be trusted to make their own choices.

It’s the economy, stupid.  How many times do I have to say that? The economy.  That should be the #1 priority.

Between Obama and McCain, I can’t stand either of them.  It’s a shame that that’s the best we could do.  Looks like another 3rd Party vote for me.

    yes they are that stupid.
If the Dems don’t win by 10 points its their own fault. The are so out of touch. My feelings are definately 3rd party but I fear a third party vote is in essence a vote for Obama.

This partly why I dont vote… LOL.. So many stupid people trying to get into the white house. I sometimes wonder if they just want in to say they have been there and done that and then off to another area of life after the four or eight years they spend in office..

Off the subject did you hear about Favre??? He is with the NY Jets.

This statement was a bit vague… what, exactly, do you think the problem with illegal immigration is :-)

I just saw Jesse Ventura at a UFC fight in Minnesota. Got me thinking he’d be better than both of the candidates.

Skeletor - He probably would be. I read his book. not a dummy at all.

    Bo -
we feel it first hand being here. the LEGAL aliens get good grades, are good kids, and go on to do well. the illegal ones join gangs and bring down the test scores. this isn’t even singling out any group either, it’s simply legal vs illegal, because with legal, we get to check them out and deport them if they’re bad.

Tweety - Yeah, it’s a shame, but the Jets are my 2nd favorite team now. You should vote, even if it means just voting for Brett Favre for President. send them a message that you don’t like them.

Sage - very true. they’re completely out of touch with reality.

Our crooked politicians won’t do a damned thing about the economy because they’re profiting from it! :(

Like I said in my rant: neither of the candidates will faithfully follow the Constitution.

I disagree wholeheartedly that Jimmy Carter was a worse President than George W. Bush.

zombie, zombie, zombie…*shakes head and sighs*…when did you forget no politician or political party focuses on what is actually good for the country? you poor idealistic soul.

I agree with Kathleen given the nuclear hair trigger both the Soviets and us lived under while Carter made mistakes we all got out of the situation without mushroom clouds popping up. I shudder to think how Bush would have handled any real crisis. But I will write that Bush is really good at creating them.

I also agree with Lime, most politicians don’t give a rip about the country only getting re-elected.

And lastly in a perfect world I would be able to vote for Jim Webb for president in November.

Kathleen - Carter’s the opposite of Bush, but in a bad way. He was too good of a person to be President, and allowed us to be walked over. The economy was even worse under Carter, and he gave away the Panama Canal.

Lime - I do believe Jim Webb and Ron Paul are good people and actually do have the country’s best interest in mind.

Beach - Yes, we’re lucky to have an easier time under Bush, but Carter was just awful. We’re lucky to only have had him for one term. And good to see someone else knows who Jim Webb is. He should be President. He’d make a good one.

I think a state funeral is in the offing for Obama.
    Mark my words.

As long as you concede that Jimmy Carter was too good to be president, I won’t smack you when I meet you. ;-) However, I still don’t think he was worse than Bush, it was just that he cared too damn much.
