Please welcome Neal

September 11th, 2008

Folks,

Please welcome Neal, who got sick of Blogger and asked me about other hosting options.  I told him that I own zombie-slayer.com, and offered to host his blog and he accepted.

I’ve always liked Neal’s writing.  Even in the few cases we disagree, I appreciate that he thinks out everything he believes and doesn’t just get his ideas spoonfed by the media or some ass clown on the radio or television with a lot of charisma.

Anyways, his blog is at http://www.zombie-slayer.com/neal and so far it’s looking pretty good. Drop by and say hello.

I still haven’t decided who I’ll vote for for President, but I guarantee you it won’t be Obama or McCain.  I strongly believe in our Constitution, and neither will do a fair job at defending it, so neither will get my vote.

Someone I really admire once said that you’re supposed to stand up for what’s right, not for what’s popular.  I’ve lived by that my whole life, and often got a lot of flack for it.  Unfortunately, I don’t remember who said it so I can’t give that person credit.

When I figure out who I’ll be endorsing, I’ll let you all know.

One more thing, if you’re wondering why I keep disappearing from the blog world, this is why.  When you have this right outside your house, how can you expect me to stay inside on the computer? This is a picture I took before going on my uphill sprints.

It’s like Little House on the Prairie without the tall flowing grass. Thanks. You just made me miss living out there.

I saw your comment about the Cowboys on my blog and thought I would bring over here. I am cautiously optimistic about the season. I can’t believe how utterly loaded the team is now. We couldn’t find a cornerback or a quarterback for years. Now our secondary is outstanding, except for strong safety which ironically was our only strength in the down years manned by the same player. And our offensive line, once so porous is now the strength of the team, built in part from the draft busts and castoffs from other teams. We got Adam Jones (nee Pacman) by a miracle of circumstances, and now we just got another lineman from Denver (Montrae Holland?) because he checked in overweight. Are you kidding me? The drubbing the Cowboys gave to the Browns should have been two touchdowns worse at a minimum, had not Romo had a couple brain farts. But I’m not complaining. You live by the sword you die by the sword. And our running back corp–I think our third stringer Tashard Choice could earn a starting spot on another team in a couple years. Nevermind about Felix Jones. Man, I sure would hate to be a DC trying to stop this offense.

But the Giants and Eagles are both in our division, and the Redskins always come ready to play. We’ve got a big test coming against the Eagles on Monday night. How Dallas does will have a huge impact on my confidence level.

I’ll be watching the Jets. What a story they could turn out to be. Reminds me of the old days when Montana went to the Chiefs for a season and really made them a team. He even beat the Forty Niners that year. I remember; I was living in the Bay Area at the time. I loved it.

As for the Pack, don’t count them out of anything. Aaron Rodgers did a good job (if not great). That team won thirteen games last year, and it takes a hell of a lot more than just a quarterback to make that happen–but it helps!

I admire you so much for voting who you believe in and not just voting for what some would call “the lesser of 2 evils.” I truly believe in Obama, but I also understand that some people are really not feeling either candidate…most of those people are not awesome enough to do what you are doing, and that is voting for someone they believe in! I have a friend who loathes McCain but is still voting for him because she thinks Obama is a Muslim!!!! How crazy is that!!!

These election of candidates and all the drama seems to have been going on for years :(

I LOVE that photograph - it is wonderful to have a peek into your world. That area is amazing - it could easily pass as the UK.

Scott - Your OL was giving Romo something like 6 seconds on the average pass. Geez, he could have lit a cigarette back there before finding an open receiver. With that much time and TO healthy, I just don’t see you guys getting knocked off this year.

Your whole team is balanced, and with a decent pass rush, you could get away with a mediocre SS.

I’m watching the Jets too. Favre’s still my favorite player. Aaron Rodgers is good, and we’re a balanced team, but I just don’t see us winning 13 games again.

Slade - Even if Obama was Muslim (which he isn’t, but just saying even if he was), who cares? That’s really sad losing a vote for their religion (especially when they get it wrong to begin with).

Miladysa - Oh, thanks. Yeah, it’s beautiful living here.

Scott - One more thing, yes, the game against the Eagles means a lot. We’ll see if that game was just a fluke or if your boys are for real. I’m thinking the latter, but the Eagles are the true test.

i’m definitely not voting for either the republicans or democrats. i was considering one or the other possibly if they made decent choices for running mates, but they both showed they are about securing votes not serving the country’s best interest when they chose who they chose.

and i don’t blame you for disappearing in to the great outdoors

like that pic - it reminds me of the drive north of sj to sf on 280, except for that your pic has green fields (instead of dry brown ones)

hi Zombie, here is not Helen, but her mum kitem, i don’ t know how to change from her name to mine, i guess she was the last one to let you a comment.
Sure enough I understand that you prefer run into the countryside than stay indoor in front of the screen.
Go and run and enjoy yourself, blog world is not as beautiful as outside true world.

sprinting? Yeesh that sounds like exercise (shudder). Glad that you’re sticking to your guns re voting. We have equally dismal choices here. Also love that saying about doing what’s right. I stick to that too and it’s cost me dearly. But nothing else makes sense.

You already know that I’m with you on this issue! ;)

Thanks for posting the link to Neal’s new blog. I’ve been a fan for quite some time. Neal knows the Constitution better than anyone I know!

Lime - Yeah, they thought of the best candidate to win instead of what’s best for the country. Had the Republicans chose their best candidate for the country, they would have picked Ron Paul. The Democrats would have chosen James Webb.

Notta - This pic is over a month old. It’s been sitting on my desktop. I still see it every time I go running though. Not so green any more.

Kitem - Oh, it’s beautiful outdoors. One thing I love about California is they put away a lot of land from development.

Bridget - Oh yeah. It’s the only way to go. You work out for less than a half hour, go home, take a shower, and you’re done. Yet, it’s better than any other exercise.

Sure it’s cost you dearly, but people who are true will respect you more.

Tshsmom - Thanks. Yeah, he knows it better than I do.

I only know it because I have probably read it a thousand times. Same with the Federalist Papers and much of the writings of Jefferson and Madison.

Our government is glad that not enough of us do what I do, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to get away with the things they do or they would be hung at high noon for treason.
