Happy New Years!

December 31st, 2008

Happy New Years everyone!

I’ll be heading over to a party in a bit.  Hope all is well for everyone and hope everyone is healthy, and everyone who wants work has work.  Scary times.

Speaking of scary times, read Raemius’s Word on the Economic Crisis.  Yes, a lot of problems are caused by layoffs, outsourcing, and being undercut by globalism as I mentioned three years ago, but Raemius is spot on that a lot of economic problems are also caused by greed and mismanagement at the family level.  He shows a hypothetical situation of Jill and Joe Sixpack not spending money very wisely.  Unfortunately, this is literally half the people I know.

I have a few regrets in life. One of which is I don’t own a publishing company. I’ve always wanted one, and still haven’t reached that goal. There are a lot of good authors out there that are unpublished. Now, I don’t know if Miladysa is published or not, but I do know that her fiction should be if it isn’t. Read this for one example of something that I wish I was reading in my hands, not only online on a blog. Her fiction takes you there. I like fiction that can take you in so you feel you’re actually there experiencing what’s going on.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jill and Joe sound like ALL the people we know. :(
A lot of people scoff at our lifestyle, but we have everything paid off, plus an emergency fund. Our biggest worry is keeping our jobs so we can pay for food and utilities!

I am trying to keep my optimism in the face of recessive times. It doesn’t look good, but I believe in the resiliency of this country.

Here’s hoping that this year we climb out of the hole.

    Happy New Year!
This will be a good year. Scary, but good. Like Scott, I have a lot of faith in the resiliency of the U.S. (look at what it’s been through so far!) and - against my better judgement - I’m pretty optimistic. Jill and Joe might not fare so well, but then they’ll be toast when the zombie plague starts, anyway, right?

Happy New Year (a week late)!

Um, if you ever own that publishing company, may I please be an editor/proofreader? That’s my dream job. ;-)
