Fixing the Right

March 10th, 2009

It is imperative that we have alternative choices. Right now is a walk in the park for President Obama. He’s got a Democrat Congress and Senate by a pretty wide margin.

Which for me isn’t a good thing. I am a proud American Nationalist, someone who believes there should be benefits to being an American citizen while within the American borders. I am NO COMPROMISE when it comes to ANY of the Bill of Rights. Yes, there are 10, NOT 9 Amendments in the Bill of Rights. I’m also sick of paying high taxes for everyone else in the world but me. Those are very important aspects of being a true Right-winger.

We’re going all out Keynes and it’s not only not going to work*, your kids are going to HATE you for it. The Right is the only thing that can stop this.

What we need to drop

A few things though that the Right needs to get rid of.

1) George W Bush sucked. He was horrible. I’m sick and tired of people who think they’re Right-wingers who keep making excuses for that ass clown. Seriously, they’re beginning to sound like battered wives. “I fell down the stairs.” Yeah, right. Blame the Democrats for Bush’s screw up after screw up? Only can go so far before the other person realizes you’re just a tad crazy (or stupid).

Bush was a horrible President and he severely damaged the credibility of the Right. The sooner we real Right-wingers admit it, the sooner we get back into power. He was horrible when it came to protecting the borders, horrible at spending, was no friend to the 2nd Amendment, had no understanding of foreign affairs, and FAILED to catch Osama bin Laden. He’s a loser, and only did a few things right. The guy didn’t even know how to cast a fishing line. No, I’m not making that up. Chances are, people who can’t cast a fishing line are no friends of outdoorsmen, and Bush’s policies proved he was no friend to us.

2) I am glad we have Environmental Regulation in this country. If you think all environmental laws need to go, then leave the country. Seriously. Take a three month vacation to the Third World, and when you get back, you’ll thank the environmental movement.

Yes, I know there are crazy, stupid, holier than thou hippies out there that smell bad, have double standards, and make no logical sense whatsoever, and I know some environmental laws are horrible and should be overturned. But for the most part, I am thankful we live in a clean country. And I’d like to keep it that way.

3) Church and State should be separate. One thing I can’t stand about Muslim nations (with a few exceptions, and if you know world politics, you’ll know which ones they are) is they shove religion down your throat. There are far-Right Christians who are almost as scary as the Muslim crazies. These whack jobs (like Tipper Gore, who suddenly became a Liberal, but that’s another story) want to ban my music, my games, and too many of my other pursuits.

Look, you know I can’t live in a country with Sharia laws. I also enjoy a nice pair of boobs and the Christian Right would ban that too. John Ashcroft covered up a statue. Yes, a freaking statue. Those aren’t even real boobs.

Some even make ridiculous laws against alcohol (which the Left is starting to do too so they don’t exactly get a free pass). I don’t need people telling me what I can and can’t do with my money. It’s my money, and my time.

After we drop those aspects

So, after we drop those aspects from the Right wing, we’d be taken seriously by the Moderates again, the people who really decide who wins elections. You’d be surprised just how many Americans are sick of paying high taxes. You’d be surprised just how many Americans cherish their God (or Goddess if you’re a Pagan) given Freedoms. You’d be surprised how many Americans are still patriotic.

Do you start to sweat come April 15th? Well, if so, you might be closer to me in beliefs than you realize.

*Both the Hoover Administration and FDR enacted heavy Keynes policies and history proved they didn’t work. Neither got us out of the Great Depression. The thing that got us out of it was WWII, like it or not, that’s the truth/

Also want to make clear I am not anti-Islam. I believe in Freedom of Religion, and my religion is none of your business as your religion is none of my business. However, I was using Islam as an example of when Church and State are in bed with each other. I want to make it clear that that would happen with any religion, not just Islam. Church and State need to be separate or else that crap happens.

I’m in agreement with all of these, particularly #3. What Christians who want Christianity in government and public schools don’t seem to get is that if you let in one religion, you have no right to refuse any other religion. For instance, if you enforce Christian prayer in school or let Gideons pass out Bibles in a government building, you really don’t have an excuse to block Scientologists or other cultists from stepping in to peddle their beliefs in the same way. If you want Scientologists giving stress tests to junior high students, then go ahead and push for religion in public schools.

And yes, we do need some environmental laws and standards. It’s just common sense, if you want to see the sky and not breathe in pure chemicals. Coming home to Canada from Taiwan, I was happy I didn’t have to wear a facemask on the street.

Well, part of the problem with Taiwan is overpopulation, something Canada isn’t suffering from yet, but yes, Canada does have much better environmental protection than Taiwan.

    And good point about #3.

There are many things the Republican party needs to change. One thing is to stop lying to us by calling themselves conservatives. Conservatives don’t allow our manufacturing to be transfered to China. Conservatives don’t embrace deficit spending when the economy is booming, as with Reagan, and both Bushes Conservatives balance the budget. The Republican Party is not the conservative party, they are the Multi-National Globalist Party. Those who voted Republican were duped into believing they were represented by the Republicans whereas the truth is the only ones the GOP represent are the Multi-National Corporations. Contrary to what you may believe, the only party who stands up for the rights of the middle class is the Democratic Party. They may have many faults but they provided a better candidate and America is lucky they don’t have the old fool McCain and his bimbo running mate.
Within the Republican Party there are only a handful of congressionmen who are still conservative; Ron Paul is one. As long as the Republican continue their psuedo-conservative ways they will continue to decline. Also they need to denounce their new defacto leader, the racist hate-monger, Rush.

I’m not just talking about the Republican party, but people who call themselves Right-wingers. I’ve done posts on how GWB is NOT a Right-winger and I guess they go right over their heads.

Bush is horrible, and those people really do sound like battered wives, always making excuses for that idiot. He thought illegal aliens were good things, thought outsourcing the middle class to India and manufacturing to China were good things, and he failed to veto anything.

He’s as bad as a spender as Jimmy Carter, yet they use Carter as the example of a spender.

as usual, Zombieslayer, we agree. Especially on 2). All anyone has to do is drive north! The environmental laws here are a joke, and the enforcement is even worse. You would not believe the cancer rates, especially in the poorer provinces. Food inspection? Forget it. Nuclear power plants? Leak into the drinking water every day, with the government advising that no ill effects will happen. No follow up either. We actually IMPORT nuclear waste here and bury it in old mines. There is no food waste or much plastic recycling. Most of the lakes in Ottawa/Ontario can’t be swum in because of coliform bacteria. Raw sewage is regularly dumped into rivers and it’s LEGAL!

    Grrrrr.

Bridget - Yikes. Had no idea Canada was that polluted. I’m unfortunately pretty ignorant about Canada. Been to Vancouver twice but that’s it. Been to Mexico over ten times though and I can speak enough Spanish to get by.

    Makes sense to me.

The only thing Bush did that I will give him credit for is disrupting terrorist plots, organizations, and their free-for-all safe roam throughout the middle east. But the flip side of that coin is that he spent like a liberal, which was just the set for the spike that Obama is cramming down our throats. You can also read about Johnson’s administration if you want to see what happens when you dump money into social engineering projects. It back fires. Instead of generating jobs, it generates resentment and political machines that agitate and causes civil unrest.

As a right-winger, if that’s what I need to be called, I wouldn’t spend a dime but on organizations that are well managed with a proven ideas or business models that are all but guaranteed to produce trickle down wealth. I would let AIG fail, or I would have it cut out the cancerous parts of its organization and feed the machine that is known to work well. But as a nation you are pretty much a martyr for telling the truth, withholding from the scum suckers and giving to the producers. All you have to do is attach the stigma of race to the holder of the money and it all falls apart in a crying, whining shitstorm.

Scott - Yeah, I’ll give him some credit for that, but also I happened to like John Bolton as our UN Rep and I like John Roberts, the Supreme Court head that Bush appointed. More often than not though, he screwed up and screwed up very badly.

Completely agreed about LBJ. It’s actually caused racial problems because of the resentment.

I’d let AIG fail as well. I don’t believe in corporate welfare.

Meghan McCain was on The Rachel Maddow Show last week and I can say that I’ve found a Republican who does not make me gag (although her “I love the Republican party” line was a bit much - crap, I’m a bleeding heart freaking liberal and I don’t love the Democratic party). She strikes me as a nice moderate Republican - I didn’t know there were any left in this country anymore. They are shouted down by the Rush, Coulter, Ingraham Contingent of angry idiocy.

  12. comment number 12 by: The Zombieslayer

Kathleen - Yeah, Rush lost me years ago, but really pissed me off when he said he’s rooting for Obama to fail.

Obama’s my President. Sure, I voted against him (as you know I voted Libertarian) and don’t have much faith in him, but I sincerely hope he does some good stuff because I happen to live in America. I hope he succeeds. I hope he has a change of heart and becomes fiscally responsible and protects our Constitution and our borders.

And yeah, I can’t love any party. They all have their good and bad. I’m even considering dropping my Right label because I’m surrounded by so many dumbasses.
