I hope you have your provisions
March 30th, 2009It looks like the Dow may have had a dead cat bounce. I hope you all have 3 months provisions. We may be in for a long one.
I’m probably going to lose most of my readers by saying this, but I’d rather deal with reality than lie and say everything’s going to be peachy. Hyperinflation may come sooner than we realize. We may have a real crash this time.
How can it get worse?
Believe this if you must. It’s got about as much truth as “AIG or Citibank are too big to fail.” Yeah, we heard that one a year ago. How well did that hold up?
We have yet to see the commercial real estate crash. When that happens, expect chaos.
Sorry Obama fans, but I have to tell you the truth about Barack Obama. He’s in over his head. He should have never been elected President and I guarantee you he’s wishing he lost.
What if I’m wrong?
Can I be wrong? Sure. I’ve been saying to have 3 months provisions of water and food, buy handguns and at least one reliable long gun. If I’m wrong, splendid. Do you think I want hyperinflation? Of course not. I want to be wrong. But wishing for something to happen doesn’t make things happen, especially when they’re completely out of your control.
If I’m wrong, you got 3 months provisions. Enjoy them. Incorporate that extra food into your meals. Drink the water. It’s good for you anyways. And your guns and ammo would have kept their value. They’re the same as investing in gold, silver, or land; things that are REAL.
We have spent so much that our lenders are starting to shit in their pants. China thinks Obama’s an idiot. Don’t worry, Obama fans. They thought the same thing about Bush. Yes, they were right about Bush. And yes, they’re right about Obama.
This spending isn’t going to work. At worst, we get hyperinflation and you will deal with violent crime face to face. I hope you’re prepared for it.
At best, the economy picks up, the Dow goes back up, and your kids will hate you for leaving them with trillions in debt. Yes, those of you who wanted this bailout and this stimulus have officially made your children slaves to banks. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. And as far as I’m concerned, if they stick you in a shitty retirement home, you deserve it. Heck, I deserve it for not fighting it enough, because I knew the consequences.
What’s going to happen?
I don’t have the answer for this. When a society collapses, from history, a lot can happen. It can rebuild itself, but that stage is almost always very, very ugly. My biggest fear is an authoritarian state where somebody gets scapegoated for this. That scapegoat can be anyone - a racial group, a religious group, an ethnicity, people with glasses, people who went to college, people who didn’t go to college, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, anyone. Just remember, from history, the closer we get to collapse, the louder the scapegoating will get.
yes it’s what fills the vacuum and the scapegoating that gets scary.
Yes Obama is over his head, however, McCain would have been worse, and maybe the stress would have been too much and Palin would have been president by now. Then things would truly be fubar. Mitt Romney would be looking pretty good right now. I actually think Obama should have him in his cabinet, but then Mitt (who names their kid Mitt?) Romney would probably would not tow the party line.
I like Obama, I think he is better for foreign relations, but I cannot agree with his economic policies. I am 100% against these bailouts.
Lime - Agreed.
Raemius - It’s nothing against him as a person. I don’t think he knows what he got himself into. Would McCain be better? Don’t know. Don’t care. I wanted Ron Paul, the only candidate who gets it. And yeah, I remember what you wrote about the bailouts and I completely agreed.
They won’t deal with reality, because they want us all to think everything is peachy and keep SPENDING. Then everything will get back to the way it was. *cue fluffy clouds and happy music*
They haven’t realized that trying to get back to the way it was won’t fix anything. The system needs to be overhauled and re-regulated.
All the bailout has done is further line the pockets of the greedy bastards that caused this whole mess!
I have said it before I knew we were in trouble when Obama was elected but didnt know how bad until I read some of these posts about him. No bail out is going to help this time around. they dont even need to think of another one. Sure I have to admit it was fun getting that check in the mail because we needed it but you are right about putting our children in a bad postion.
Tshsmom - True. Their greed is going to cause the whole system to collapse.
We’re quickly seeing a disappearing Middle-Class. We’ll see a rise of the number of homeless people, even in posh suburbs.
Tweety - No, it won’t work. Obama is trying to enact Keynesian policies, which never worked. What will happen is we’ll get inflation, and possibly hyperinflation. If the latter happens, we’ll be in serious trouble. Inflation will really hurt old folks and people on fixed incomes, but hyperinflation will destroy them, plus cause crime to go through the roof.
raises hand, wants it noted for the record that i wrote in ron paul on my ballot.
Lime - I wanted to, but I ended up voting Libertarian. Ron Paul was the guy I was rooting for though.
Scary times my friend - this is no credit crunch - a full scale depression at the very least.
I don’t want to sound like some sort of radical religious nut, but Obama just doesn’t get what it means to be American. He doesn’t understand the principles upon which this country was founded.
If he did, how could he say the following, “[O]ne of the great strengths of the United States is — although as I mentioned, we have a very large Christian population — we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation; we consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”
Yet Patrick Henry said, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”
Our whole government has violated their oaths to uphold the Constitution, but Obama is tearing at the very fabric that makes America what it is.
If there are any factual history books written after we fall, they won’t speak kindly of him.
