I told you Globalism was a bad thing
September 8th, 2009Jobs. That’s the key to any economy. It has always been the key to every economy. It will always be the key to any economy.
Jobs. It’s something America is lacking right now. Why? Well, I’ll tell you why. Globalism.
I told you years ago that Globalism would come back to bite us in the ass. Well, I was right. It has. We’ve simply outsourced more jobs than we created, and brought in more foreigners both legally and illegally than we can handle. Americans are out of work, and it’s because of Globalism.
Sure, there were other reasons. We overextended, fighting two wars at once in which one we completely do not belong whatsoever. Plus we had the bank greed (I also told you bailouts were a bad thing - $32 billion of OUR taxpayer money went to bonuses alone). Plus we had real estate greed.
Still, the heart of the economy is simply jobs. Yes, ’twas banking and real estate that caused the crash but if you want a recovery, it all starts with jobs, jobs, and jobs.
We’ve outsourced more than we’ve created and now we have well over 10% of America out of work. We’ll never know the numbers because the government lies to us. It tells us that people out of work for six months are not out of work. Yes, that’s how they figure it. If you’re out of work for more than six months, you’re no longer unemployed. They actually take you off the unemployment figures.
Now, I’ve heard all the lies about American workers being lazy. That’s all a bunch of bullshit. Americans work harder than any other nation on Earth. Even Newsweek magazine said that, because the people everyone thinks works hardest have these things called “holidays” where workers take time off and rest. Strange concept to Americans. We often work through them, or at least keep ourselves available via cell phone or pager if the shit hits the fan at work.
Granted, I am not against all outsourcing, all immigration, etc. I simply think it needs to be balanced. You do not outsource more jobs than you create. You do not bring in more immigrants than you can deal with. We had regulations in place before but because of Globalism and political correctness, they’re pretty much gone. Now it’s a free for all and you know who loses? The American worker.
So my question would be, what can the american worker do about this?
Often people want to just shrug their shoulders and say, “Oh well, that’s just the way things are,” because they don’t feel that they can make a difference, or that what they want matters.
Well, who’s ‘land of the free’ is it anyway? People have always had to stand up and fight for their rights, and now is one of those times. It just sucks that most of them won’t do anything until they have no other choice.
NAFTA, Free Trade, Pelosi, Clinton, Bush (both of em,) and the list grows of the bad things affecting my children’s future!
All I can say is keep on keeping on and I linked this site! Feel free to do the same!
You can’t grow an economy be doing each others laundry, you need to make the clothes.
Unfortunately, the west cannot compete with China’s manufacturing industry, which has no oversight, standards or moral conscience.
Examples include melamine tainted baby formula and tainted pet food.
Clothosfate - We could support getting rid of tax breaks for outsourcing to begin with. The other thing is we can start buying locally made products.
Jesse - Dropped by. I’m impressed.
Raemius - Like I told Clothosfate, we get rid of tax breaks for outsourcing and buy locally made products.
The other thing, we NEED to drop China from most favored nation status. A lot of what they do is downright evil.
China owns too much US debt to fuck with, and they know it. Why Canada is tagging along for the ride, I do not understand.
