Why weren’t the Lexus recalled?
February 2nd, 2010A while back, I posted an article warning people not to buy Toyotas or Lexus. I was right. Several models of Toyotas were recalled, but after plenty of deaths and plenty more near deaths.
My question is, how come Lexus weren’t recalled?
This video is very disturbing. It’s a 911 call made by an off-duty police officer driving his family in a Lexus. This is their last 52 seconds on Earth. At the end of this call, all four of them die.
That’s tragic. I don’t know if Toyota’s sales will recover, and I don’t think they deserve to. Save your life, help Americans, and buy Ford.
I remember that story and I truly thought Lexus had been recalled. That is just wrong.
Oh my goodness.. Scary isnt… We are getting me another car on Tuesday hopfully.. I will take photo’s and let you know what it is. then..
Holy crap.
A friend of mine who owns a Prius said that right now there is a Ford recall going on that nobody is talking about, and is not in the news. Something about the cruise control CATCHING FIRE. No, that’s not a big deal at all. It’s the 2nd largest recall ever… no press. Why?
Because the US government now owns 55% of GM and maybe scaring away toyota buyers might improve their sales?

Not at all denying there could be a conspiracy, but nobody died. So not as a big a story.
With Toyota, people died. Toyota tried to cover it up. More people died. Toyota tried to cover it up. More people died. Big story.
All automatic transmissions can be popped into neutral when this happens. Did that not work in this case?
Raemius - Yes, that would have worked. I think when it happened, people panicked. At last count, over 30 people died.
I have heard all these stories and I wonder why just turning the ignition of doesn’t work. I think I also read somewhere that the Toyota’s affected don’t actually have accelerator cables, the gas pedal is wireless, it uses some sort of transmitter to send a signal to the computer which controls how much gas is injected into the engine. From what I heard, these signals can be disrupted by other devices that operate on the same frequency.
Don’t know if all that is true, just what I have been hearing.
I know Toyota blew it. They recalled all these cars and they still don’t know if the fixes they did will correct the problem. It sucks because I just bought a Corolla last year for my wife, and we can’t afford a new car even if we traded it in and got a good price for it. I told her if she notices the car speeding up, run it into anything to stop it before she gets to a speed that will kill her. Better off crashing into a wall at 40 or 50 and let the airbags absorb the shock than hitting a wall at 120.
