Must be Right-wing redneck bigots

January 8th, 2010

Have you ever heard of this guy Dalai Lama? I just read a quote of his and I’m thinking he’s got to be one of those crazy Right-wing whack job redneck sister screwing racist homophobic sheep fucking lazy ass racist conspiracy tinfoil hat wearing inbred hillbillies.

You know what he said? He said “If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun.” (Seattle Times, May 15, 2001).  Well, we all know only Right-wing bigots like guns.  So screw this Lama guy.  What a weird name anyways.

Then there’s this Mahatma Gandhi guy.  ‘‘Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.’’

Huh? He’s for Indians owning guns? Probably so they could shoot each other.  Probably some racist bigot who thinks women should be barefoot and pregnant and chained up to the stove so they can cook him a meal when he gets home from work.

The only guy who really makes sense is this Heinrich Himmler guy.  He says that “ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the state.”  Well, I couldn’t agree with this guy more.  Himmler gets it.  Only the state should be trusted with guns.  Maybe I should have voted for him for President.  He’d make a good leader.

Record gun sales. That means murder is up, right?

December 30th, 2009

I’ve been a gun show geek for decades now, going to gun show after gun show.  I’ve never seen anything like this.  You have to get there early or else the ammo for common calibers is all gone.

Usually, I’d get there right around the crack of noon.  Or later.  Depends how late I slept in.

Now, I actually have to get up.

You ask why? It’s because Obama got elected so people started buying guns like crazy.  Not only that, the types of guns buyers bought were handguns and “sporting rifles.”

In all my years of being a gun nut, no year comes close to 2009 when it comes to sales.  The numbers prove it so it’s not just the gun shows I go to.  Unfortunately, prices have shot up as well, but the buyers are still buying.  Almost wish I invested more in guns than the S&P 500 index.  I would have actually made money this decade.

So, with this mad buying of guns, the murder rate shot up.  Right? Right?

Nope.  Sorry anti-gunners.  Looks like you’re gonna need a new argument.  The murder rate dropped 10% in the first half of ‘09.

Things that make you go “hmm…”

Comments on the recent shootout in Mexico

June 7th, 2009

You know what Democrats and Republicans have in common? They’re both full of shit.

It’s funny how when Bush was President, Democrats loved it when I exposed the crap Bush was doing and they loved it when I went off on Bush.  Of course Republicans, who like Democrats, are binary thinkers, thought I had to be a Democrat.  Now that Obama is in power and doing his share of bullshit, I’m going to expose it and the Democrats, who like Republicans are binary thinkers, will all think I’m a Republican.

If you don’t know what a binary thinker is, it is simply if you aren’t one of us, you have to be one of them.  So, you’re either a Republican, or a Democrat.  If you insult the Democrat President, you must be a Republican.  And vice verse.

You’d think people are more intelligent than that, but apparently not.

Shootout in Acapulco

I’ve been to Acapulco.  In fact, I’ve been all over Mexico except the Sonoran Desert and Baja (besides Tijuana).  It’s gorgeous, like a lot of Mexico is.  Unfortunately, the majority of Mexico is also very corrupt.

Currently the Obama Administration blames American gun shows for the violence in Mexico.  I’ve done another post on that topic but I want this to hit home because I know a lot of Obama fans are in denial how much this guy has his head up his ass.

So 16 people were killed in the recent shootout.  Gunmen not only fired shots, but hurled around 50 grenades at the soldiers arriving at the house.  Now, if you STILL believe the Obama Administration that American gun shows are to blame for the violence in Mexico, here’s a homework assignment for you.  I want you to try to buy grenades at your local gun show.  Just don’t cry to me when you end up in JAIL.

I can almost guarantee you that the guns used against the Mexican soldiers did NOT come from American gun shows.  This whole argument is so stupid.  The Obama Administration goes out of its way to make people like me who frequent gun shows to look bad.  The thing that gets me is not that they lie, but you got idiotic Americans who actually believe their lies.

Where they’re coming from

Once again, here is a short list (and very incomplete list) of where Mexican criminals are getting their guns:

The Mexican black market.  It’s a lot bigger than people want to give it credit for and a heck of a lot more accessable than crossing the border and sneaking guns through security checkpoints.

FARC (Columbia) and other South American revolutionaries.  They got plenty of guns and need the money.

China.  If you know your guns, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  China has been a worldwide supplier of cheaply made guns for quite awhile now.

Deserters from the Mexican army.  You have 150k deserters within the past six years.  They don’t exactly turn their guns in when they desert.

Guatemala.

I’m still waiting for someone to prove to me the “gun show loophole” without ending up in jail.  They keep mentioning it with the hope that stupid Americans will start believing it exists.  Well, it doesn’t.  Gun shows have to follow the same laws that everyone else does, and the last thing a gun show wants is to be forced out of business.  If anything, gun shows are pretty anal.

But as any dictator will tell you, repeat a lie often enough and people will start believing it.

In case you’re wondering, here is proof that criminals don’t get their guns from gun shows. This information comes from the Department of Justice itself. So instead of getting your “facts” from someone with an anti-gun slant, get it from the DoJ.

Of inmates with firearms, 39.6% got them from family members or friends. 39.2% got them from an illegal source “on the streets.” And 13.9% bought them from other sources - mainly retail stores (8.9%) and pawn shops (3.8%). Funny thing, a higher percentage got them from flea markets (1%) than gun shows (0.7%).

So if you really don’t want criminals to get guns, I suggest we ban families and friends.

I’m not responsible for your stupidity…

…and you’re not responsible for mine.

The Golden Gate Bridge

You probably already know I live in the San Francisco area.  One of her most famous landmarks is her Golden Gate Bridge, a bridge that crosses the Golden Gate from San Francisco to Marin.  It’s a beautiful bridge and a beautiful crossing.  Since its inception in 1937, the bridge allowed pedestrian access.

Now some groups are trying to close the bridge to pedestrians because of all the suicides.  What a load of horse manure.  Look, if you want to kill yourself, go for it.  Just don’t blame me and don’t make it an inconvenience for me either.  If I ever kill myself, I’ll make the same agreement to you.  Deal? Good.

I am not responsible for other people’s stupidity.  Why should I be punished because unhappy people end it all by jumping off my bridge? And yes, I call it my bridge because my tax money maintains it.

Be careful what you wish for.  Don’t go around banning other people’s freedoms just because some people don’t use them right.

The same applies to handguns

I looked at handgun deaths the other day and you know what? Take out suicides and they’re very, very low.  Actually, almost insignificant.  Take out suicides and put them up against cars and they barely register.  Even better, put them up against “accidental deaths in hospitals.”

I knew a crazy anti-gun activist who one day confessed to me that if he owned a handgun, he would have killed himself.  So, my handguns should be banned because this guy is an idiot? Great logic there.

Same applies to drugs

So, I looked for statistics on illegal drug deaths.  The National Drug Control Strategy has them published in 2000, and the stats only go up to ‘97 unfortunately.  Well, less than 16k people died of illegal drugs in ‘97.  Big deal.  Double that figure and you still don’t even come close to what cars do.  Heck, times that figure times five and it still doesn’t match alcohol, and alcohol is only a fraction of cigarettes.

Not at all implying that we need to ban alcohol or cigarettes.  I’m just putting things in perspective.  Seriously, not that many people die of illegal drugs.  It’s simply not worth the damage to our Fourth Amendment to fight this War on Drugs.  No thanks.  I’d rather have my Freedom.  If people want to pollute their bodies, who am I to tell them not to? Besides, I don’t want my tax money wasted on big government playing Dad.

The same study by the same government agency (paid for YOUR tax dollars by the way) also said that $63.2 billion was wasted in ‘99 on illegal drugs.  Great.  More reason to legalize it.  Imagine the tax revenue if those same drugs were legal.

Once again, I’m not at all for taking illegal drugs.  It’s just not my place to tell you how to kill yourself.  Big difference.

Don’t be touching my 401k now

So, once again, the stock market crashes and surprise, surprise, the media is harping about how 401k’s are dangerous and you could lose money.  No, ****, Sherlock.  If you didn’t know that when you started your 401k, you’re an idiot, as far as I’m concerned.  You read the fine print? It clearly says you can lose money.

The bad thing is you hear politicians wanting safety nets on 401k’s now.  That’s stupid.  If you can’t stomach risk, fine.  Buy bonds and cash equivalents instead.  Your 401k should have given you that option.  Just be especially careful with company stock purchases.

If I wanted an annuity, I would have bought an annuity.  I don’t want the government touching my 401k.  If I lose money, it’s my fault.  Not yours.   And you shouldn’t be punished for my mistakes.

Tax money is not free money.  It comes from hard working people, such as yourself.  You work hard.  You deserve to keep as much of your money as possible.

So in summary, I’m not responsible for your stupidity.  And you’re not responsible for mine.
